The Gym in the Cellars

taking up most of the cellars of the old house the gym was large and spacious with a weights area, several types of exercise machines and a generous area covered in crash mats. Stark florescent lighting illuminates the place.

Haytham had changed in record time, his anger making things swift. Dressed in tight black vest and exercise trousers he started taking out some of his anger on the punch bag. He barely registered the passing of time, anger grief and concern in his mind slowly easing back a little with physical effort. Back in his gym clothes Haytham warmed up a little on a running machine waiting for Shay to arrive with a smirk on his face. He had something planned that would throw Shay off balance for good and he'd get revenge for that headbutt yesterday.

As soon as Shay had changed, he entered the gym, ready for his usual warm up routine. Looking over to the treadmills, he saw Haytham and found himself staring for what would probably be considered a little bit too long between friends, but he'd found himself doing it quite a bit in their 'sessions'. Fiddling at the ring on his finger, he adjusted the settings on the rowing machine; it felt weird to have something attached to his hand, but he was happy to have received it.

After five minutes, Shay decided he'd had enough of a warm up, it wasn't like it was going to prevent him from getting injuries anyway. The past couple of weeks, he'd ended up with bruises and cuts in a number of places, but his pride was still intact because Haytham hadn't fared any better.

Heading on over to the mats, he finally spoke up. "Ready when ever you are."

Haytham left Shay to himself when he arrived, trying to clear his thoughts and put the other man firmly in the friend category, when he finally spoke, Haytham was so caught up in thought that he almost jumped. Slowing down the treadmill to a halt he wiped at the thin sheen of perspiration on his forehead and made his way over to the mats with the remote. at the very edge he stopped with a smirk.

"We're going to try something different today. We've been relying on the fact you can see your opponent, but not today. You're going to have to play differently."  with a push of a button all the lights went out leaving them in the dark and he quickly dropped it and rolled away on the mat hoping to misdirect Shay if he tried to go by sound. Haytham changed the way he looked at the world and the room came into blurry focus as his other vision kicked in, now he'd really see what Shay could do.

Watching Haytham as he explained what they were going to be doing, Shay was briefly puzzled as he tried to figure out what the other was up to. That was until the lights went out. 'Ah, that's how it's going to be, is it.'

Smirking, the Irishman quietly backed up a little as his eyes adjusted with impeccable speed to the sudden darkness. It was an ability he was gifted with for many years, he could see in ways most others could not.

Eyes now able to focus, he could safely see Haytham moving. It almost felt like he was cheating, but their sparring generally had very few rules; the winner was the winner, in the same way it would be in the real world.

Decision made, Shay decided to stay where he was, letting the other man approach him first.

As silently as he could, Haytham approached Shay and lunged forward aiming for a choke hold using the noise of the air con to mask the possible scuff of his trainers.

Seeing the other man coming, Shay readied himself, only just managing to side step in time. Haytham was impressively precise and fast in his movements for the lights being out, but unfortunately for him, the younger man had already followed through with a right hook straight to the jaw.

Taking a hit to the knee, Shay dodged back before he could stagger off balance completely. Almost as fast as he jumped back, he was lunging forward again, using the force behind it as he gripped the front of Haytham's vest, slamming his back into the nearby wall.

Pinning the older man in place with the weight of his own body, Shay still held one hand clenched in the fabric of the others shirt; raising his fist again, he took another swing.

Haytham blocked "How the hell did you see to do that?" All Shay needed to do was give him good reason not to.

At the moment, Shay didn't feel right physically forcing the issue again, if they were to do anything, he didn't want any awkward regrets in the morning. "No test. If you want me, Haytham, take me. If you don't....we walk away." He tried to steady his words, it was almost excruciating trying to hold himself back at this point.
