He rolled onto his back to stare at the ceiling, "apart from my mind i'm pretty useless to everyone."

"You're that useless that people keeping drowning you in responsibility that others cannot handle.." Edging closer, La Volpe rested on his side, almost leaning over Niccolo.

"You're so useless that not only normal students, but assassin recruits look up to you.." Reaching up, he rested his hand on the younger man's jaw, gently turning his face... "Stop with this self-deprecation; the only thing you need to do is give yourself a break. You say people trust me without thinking? Yes, but should the majority? No.. People who truly know us, expect honesty from you..."

"You really think so?" he bit his lip again, this time drawing blood and absently wiped it away, he had a crease between his eyes thinking hard. he hadn't expected such an affectionate gesture from Gil either. Did people really think that about him? "no-ones ever said anything."

"I do.." La Volpe smiled.. "People have tried talking to you, Niccolo, but you're always wrapped up in your work.. You need to give yourself time to socialise.." Leaning back in, he tilted the other man's chin, so their lips were close.. "And allow yourself some.... fun on occasion." Closing the gap, he met their lips together another time, tasting a small bit of coppery blood that began forming back at Niccolo's lip.

"And I'd be happy to help you with that."

Breaking off he wondered out loud, "i DO talk to people and socialise, i teach at the fencing club and the dancing club and i go to the Brotherhood meetings. those ARE fun. What else can i do?"

"I meant doing this again, Niccolo..Sometimes you need to switch off and not be a teacher or mentor of some kind.. Unwind.." La Volpe chuckled, finding Niccolo's naivety amusing..

Again? that implied some kind of relationship even if casual. Did he really want one after all this time? and with Gil of all people. well why not? he wasn't exactly taken and no one else ever wanted him. "i've never really known how to switch off, i never needed to. But what do you mean again? now? already? how much energy do you have?"

"I have boundless amounts of energy.." It was so difficult not smirking, it was some how becoming a natural expression around around Niccolo.

"I didn't necessarily mean right this second, but if you're offering or need.... To relax a little bit more, I suppose I wouldn't be the type to argue.." Before moving, he allowed the younger man a time to answer, because if he agreed now, there was no way he'd hold back again.

"argh. let me take my pajamas off first, i don't need an more washing to do after the sheets tomorrow. Having someone here is nice, seems less, i don't know. Empty?" niccolo sighed, he wished he had a filter for his brain, but he was too honest sometimes.
